Holmes coaching staff to be well represented at AFCA National Convention in Nashville

GOODMAN --- Football coaches from Holmes Community College will represent Holmes and the MACJC well during the American Football Coaches Association annual convention in Nashville Jan. 6-9.

Holmes Defensive Coordinator Chris Woods will square off with College of the Desert coach Dean Dowty during the 8 a.m. session on Monday on what's known as a Chalk War during the convention.

Holmes Offensive Coordinator Mike McCarty serves as the chairman of the AFCA Coach of the Year selection committee. He will also serve as emcee of the Coach of the Year banquet on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m.
