GOODMAN --- Football coaches from Holmes Community College will represent Holmes and the MACJC well during the American Football Coaches Association annual convention in Nashville Jan. 6-9.

Seven Holmes Community College Bulldogs received post-season honors from the MACJC and NJCAA after the Bulldogs finished 5-4 overall and 4-2 in the North Division. Wide receiver Jonathan Rumph, offensive lineman Jamarcus Robinson and return specialist Jacorie Ousley took top honors by being named First Team All-State, and Rumph was named First Team All-Region XXIII.

The Holmes Community College Bulldog football team took a 2-4 North Division record in 2011 and flipped it in 2012 finishing with a 4-2 North Division record and 5-4 overall. Football coaches in the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges took notice of this turnaround recognizing Holmes Community College Head Football Coach Jeff Koonz with the MACJC Coach of the Year Award.

SENATOBIA --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs jumped out to a 14-6 lead over the Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers here Thursday, but Northwest reeled off 26 straight points before the Bulldogs scored again to take the key North Division game, 32-20.
