Bulldogs go 1-3 in Wes Cliburn Tournament Friday and Saturday
GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs went 1-3 in the Wes Cliburn Tournament on Friday and Saturday at Clinton High School and Hinds Community College in Raymond. The Bulldogs go 1 and 3 in the Wes Cliburn Tournament and fall to 3-5 on the year.

The Bulldogs busted open a four to four ballgame with six runs in the sixth inning and held on for an 11-10 victory. Offensively, the Bulldogs had eight hits in the ballgame. Josh Crowder led the Bulldogs with three hits. Steven Blanchard had two hits including his first homerun of the season. LaDerik Williams had two hits. Jordan Taylor added a key bases clearing double in the six run sixth for the Bulldogs. Blanchard picked up his second win of the year on the mound. Blanchard pitched five innings allowing four runs on four hits while striking out four. Brennan Marque picked up his first save of the year.

Jason Hursey threw a one hitter, but it wasn't enough as the Bulldogs fell 1-0 in a pitcher's duel. In his first start of his career, Hursey pitched seven innings allowing one unearned run on one hit while striking out two. The Bulldogs could only manage two hits in the ballgame. Jordan Taylor and Cole McBride each had one hit a piece.

Baton Rouge busted open the ballgame with a five run sixth inning as the Bulldogs fell 9-1. Offensively, the Bulldogs managed seven hits in the ballgame. Josh Crowder and Jordan Taylor led the Bulldogs with two hits a piece. Steven Blanchard, Tal Tucker, and Cole McBride each added one hit a piece. Brennan Marque took the loss for the Bulldogs on the mound. Marque pitched four innings allowing four runs (two earned) on seven hits while striking out three

Hinds exploded for seven runs in the second inning as the Bulldogs fell 11-1. JR Hall suffered the loss on the mound for the Bulldogs. Hall pitched one and two thirds innings giving up seven runs on five hits while striking out two. The Bulldogs only managed three hits in the ballgame. Tal tucker, Cole McBride, and LaDerik Williams each had one hit a piece.
